PROUDLY SERVING SHEBOYGAN COUNTY
Since 1964, the Humane Society of Sheboygan County has been dedicated to its mission: prevent cruelty to animals, relieve suffering among animals, and extend humane education. We are Sheboygan County’s only open admissions shelter.
The Humane Society of Sheboygan County focuses on accessible spay and neuter programs in an effort to beat animal population at its core. Creative adoption efforts and dozens of programs provide support for overlooked animals and work to place homeless animals into loving families.
HSSC is also a community outreach organization, partnering with other nonprofits, that offer services to enhance lives in Sheboygan County. Community generosity helps us fulfill our purpose to provide care for our shelter pets and supports our community outreach work.
“We just adopted our little kitty from you. We were treated so well. It is very clean and the animals are very clean and well taken care of. Good job!!!!! We love our new little girl!”
“I think this place is great for finding a pet. The animals are needed for homes and need another chance, you can tell once you step in to see the animals, they are sad and lonely, the prices are pretty good, and the workers are phenomenal. They care about each and every animal, no matter how bad. Please if you are looking for a pet come here. Im so tired of seeing sad dogs and cats just sitting there. And when you get a pet you save a pet with the money you used, so more animals can be rescued and rehomed. Please consider it.”
“I found the love of my life here. He was but a pup and I almost said no. The staff was very patient with me and so happy when I took him. His name was Argus and he just passed April 6th 2018. I am always going to be looking here again to see if I can find another when I am ready. Thank you to this shelter for saving his life and I had the happiest 9 years with him.”
OUR EVENT CALENDAR
There is always something going on at the shelter! From kids camps to volunteer opportunities, our event calendar has all the details you’ll need to stay on top of what’s happening in our community.
Become A Volunteer
Volunteers are essential to everything we do! Shelter volunteers provide hands-on animal care such as grooming, exercising, kennel cleaning, general housekeeping, and socializing the animals.
Other volunteer opportunities include off-site adoption events, office work/data entry, fundraising events, humane education and pet visits to local schools or organizations, and committee work.
