Supervised by Humane Society of Sheboygan County staff to maintain a safe environment, the Rescue Readers program is aimed at children in grades 1-6 to help develop social skills, while also helping them overcome any shyness to become confident readers.

The animals benefit from the time the children spend with them, learning how to interact with people of all ages. It gives both the child and the pet a chance to appreciate each other’s company while providing a different type of medium for the reader and the pet.
