Volunteer of the Month – April

Bill Meyer has been volunteering with the Humane Society of Sheboygan County for about a year and a half. He originally chose to volunteer with us after learning that our PetSmart Grafton location was seeking volunteers.

Bill’s current volunteer role is caring for the cats at our adoption center at PetSmart Grafton. As a dedicated animal lover, In addition his volunteer role with HSSC, he is the primary dog walker at another shelter up north!

Bill says that the best part about his volunteer role is finding cats the happy, forever homes that they deserve!

When asked about his most memorable moments during his time volunteering, Bill reflects on when he adopted his first cat, Gus Gus. He also says that it is absolutely priceless to see the changes in the cats that come through the adoption center and finding forever homes.

When asked what he would say to someone who is interested in volunteering with HSSC, Bill answered, “If you love cats and have two hours a week to spare, it’s so rewarding to help the cats find their permanent homes.”

Thank you Bill for your hard work and dedication to the cats at HSSC! We are so lucky to have you on our team!
