Name a Shelter Pet
“What’s in a name?”
That which we call a pet
By any other name should smell as sweet?
– William Shakespeare, probably 😉
We are often asked how we pick the names of our shelter pets. Volunteers, staff, and sometimes previous owners name the animals that come through the doors at the Humane Society of Sheboygan County. Within the last year, we have been offering the community the opportunity to help us in the process of naming our 1,200+ shelter pets that come through our doors each year.
Do you have a great pet name in mind?! A gift of $5 toward our mission allows you the right to name a shelter pet. It’s a great way to honor a loved one, memorialize a beloved pet, or celebrate a special occasion, while supporting the shelter’s work.
Whether it’s your name or the name of a loved one, a funny surprise gift, inside joke or a heartfelt honor, will give a shelter pet the name you choose. This is a great gift for children and adults who love animals, but may not have a pet of their own!
Name a pet now to support our cause! Stop in during shelter hours to purchase your gift wrapped name tags now! We are open M-F 12pm-6pm and Saturday 12pm-4pm. Name tags are available in packages of 5 tags for $5, 10 tags for $10, and 20 tags for $20. Tags will be available for purchase through the end of the year.
