Volunteer of the Month – May
About 10 years ago, Louise was driven by her love of animals and helping her community to begin volunteering with the Humane Society of Sheboygan County.
As a volunteer for our adoption center inside of PetSmart in Sheboygan Falls, Louise helps cats “feel at home” during their stay. She also helps transport cats between the shelter and our local PetSmart locations, assists potential adopters in finding their new furry friends, and then completes their adoption process!
When it comes to her start as a volunteer, Louise initially started in helping to organize our Adoption Center and says “I was not a cat lover then, and had always been a dog mom”. However, it didn’t take long for her to start enjoying the company of cats and soon she learned to appreciate felines for their own special traits. In fact, she is now both a dog and cat mom!
When asked what she enjoys about her volunteer role, she explains “There’s nothing quite like cuddling a cat, seeing them open up, watching them play and knowing they will soon be in a loving and caring home”.
Thank you, Louise, for your dedicated decade of service and here’s to 10 more!
