Staff Member Spotlight – May
The Humane Society of Sheboygan County happened upon Jesy Olson by chance. Upon moving to the area, Jesy was still searching for her sense of belonging when her husband informed her of an opening he had heard of at his job. Upon being interviewed by shelter staff she was hired, and the rest is history – for the past 11 ½ years she hasn’t looked back.
Aside from her hard work and dedication at the shelter, Jesy and her husband Ben have two children. Both happen to have four paws and wagging tails. The two golden retrievers go by Molly Mae, and Norah Jones. At home, Jesy is a well-known nap fanatic and other than that she likes to spend her time reading books, and hanging out with her loving family.
Jesy says that the best part of her job is the bittersweet feeling that comes with watching animals leave on their way to new homes. In the future, she hopes to see fewer animals in need of assistance and more community involvement with the shelter.
We appreciate you and are lucky to have found such a dedicated team member, thank you Jesy!
